Bauhaus people Josef Albers taught the basic courses at the Bauhaus. He developed color theory similar to Itten, through contrasts. The climax of his career was the Homage to the Square series in which Albers was the transitional artist between European tradtions and the new American. The series was done in the 1960s and 70s, much of his work in the 40s and 50s is very similar. Different color squares based on a progression of mathmatical ratios.
